FLEX moves 13 US credit unions to its core tech in 2020
FLEX, a Utah-based credit union core system processor, announced a full list of 13 core conversions in 2020. The vendor caters to the low-end credit union sector in the US.
“As we look back on 2020 we are amazed at how uncommonly normal the year felt,” stated Sean Holcomb, chief operations officer (COO) for FLEX. “With over 260 credit union customers running FLEX in 47 states, our exposure and perspective to the health crisis has been deep and layered.”
Preston Packer, VP and CMO of FLEX, adds: “Necessity is the mother of invention. We were able to quickly pivot and adapt to provide and deliver successful, remote conversions of the FLEX system.”
The credit unions that went live with FLEX’s tech in 2020 are:
- Animas Credit Union
Location: Farmington, NM
Assets: $147.20 million
- Alpha Credit Union
Location: Boston, MA
Assets: $36.56 million
“As we prepared our 2020 Strategic Plan, we knew that a core conversion was vital for the continued success and growth of our credit union. Choosing FLEX as our provider/partner was absolutely the best decision we could have made,” states Joette DeMeo, CEO at Alpha Credit Union. “I can’t say enough about how fabulous the conversion team was, as well as the continued FLEX support teams.”
- Community Connect Federal Credit Union
Location: Titusville, PA
Assets: $21.83 million
“Without a doubt, choosing FLEX over all the other cores we evaluated was the best decision for us to be more advanced than our local competitors now and in the future. For our size, FLEX outperforms the competition in technology, service, and innovation,” says Wade Brink, president and CEO at Community Connect Federal Credit Union.
- Compassionate Care Credit Union
Location: Fond Du Lac, WI
Assets: $7.73 million
“The reason our credit union chose to convert to FLEX was our need to find ways to better serve the membership that is currently offsite. Compassionate Care Credit Union is a small credit union located inside our local hospital. We are a closed charter credit union that currently serves the employees of the hospital and their affiliates that are located offsite,” explains Carrie Vander Grinten, president at Compassionate Care Credit Union.
“Staying connected in a time where ‘face-to-face’ communication may not always be an option; FLEX gave our credit union several different ways to continue thriving.”
- Desertview Federal Credit Union
Location: Huntington, UT
Assets: $40.93 million
- Georgia Power Northwest Federal Credit Union
Location: Rome, GA
Assets: $64.97 million
- Greater Niagara Federal Credit Union
Location: Niagara Falls, NY
Assets: $60.37 million
“Being in the midst of a pandemic it [implementing a new core processing system] wasn’t the easiest thing in the world to do,” recalls Janelle Zasucha, president and CEO at Greater Niagara Federal Credit Union.
“In fact, at times we weren’t sure if we could get through the conversion given that our state restrictions made it impossible for the FLEX conversion team to come on-site. BUT we did it!
“Every day we seem to learn something new about the FLEX System and overall we are very pleased with our decision!”
- Orem City Employees Federal Credit Union
Location: Orem, UT
Assets: $3.40 million
- P&S Credit Union
Location: West Valley City, UT
Assets: $15.88 million
- Railway Credit Union
Location: Mandan, ND
Assets: $133.46 million
“When Railway Credit Union commenced our search for a new core provider my initial direction was to go with one of the largest providers in the space for safety and soundness purposes,” comments Paul Brucker, president at Railway Credit Union. “As we progressed through research it became clear to me that maybe bigger isn’t always better in the DP universe. We are so pleased that we found a vendor that is an actual business partner rather than just another for-profit vendor.”
- Richmond VA Fire Police Credit Union
Location: Richmond, VA
Assets: $20.77 million
“We were long overdue for a new core processing system. FLEX offers the automation and back office expertise which allows our small credit union to operate with confidence,” says Iris Ellis, president and CEO at Richmond VA Fire Police Credit Union.
- Virginia CO-OP Credit Union
Location: Virginia, MN
Assets: $32.24 million
- Wheat State Credit Union
