Start Your Business With a Promising Adsense
A very important element in AdSense’s rapid adoption is that it makes it very easy for publishers to place ads on their sites as quickly as possible.
Integrating AdSense on your website only takes a few minutes and you can start using one or more of the well-integrated AdSense ads right away.
The first thing you need to do is navigate to http://www.google.com/adsense and register or log in with your existing account and password. On the following page, you will find the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions, which you must agree to continue.
You’ll be presented with a report page that you can use to get a detailed status of how your AdSense ads are performing. This allows you to optimize your content and site layout to maximize your AdSense earnings.
There is also a link at the top of your page to a setup area where you can generate the code that needs to be placed on your website to make the AdSense banner appear on your page.
You can use AdSense for text (the ad), the search box, or referrals. Your choice between these options depends on how users navigate your site.
Finally, there is a “My Account” tab where you can set up details about your account, payment, and tax information.
To add text ads to your site, return to the AdSense setup tab and click the AdSense for content sites link. Make sure you enable cookies in your browser.
You can choose between ad units and link blocks. The former contains text and/or images of a specific site for each entity, mostly with a detailed description, the latter only contains links to a specific type.
Of course, knowing which type to use is a little tricky, so you may need to experiment with both for a while before deciding.
You can also see an example of the unit view on the right side of your page. However, you may only use three ad units and one link unit per page. This is believed to be a step taken by Google for quality control.
The next step is to choose your ad format and color. You can basically pick any color palette you want, with Google offering several of their own if you don’t have the time or expertise to create one. You can always see what the palette will look like using examples. The one that works best in terms of looks and sales depends on the look and feel of the website.
However, their ad formats are limited to a choice of eleven formats. There is an “Ad Formats” link that takes you to a page where you can see all of these in action so you can decide which one suits your site best. Sometimes the most annoying ones stop working properly, this can vary from site to site.
When you’re done customizing, you can click Next at the bottom of the page.
You’ll see a section titled “AdSense for content sites.” You can click anywhere in the text and it will display the necessary JavaScript to run AdSense. This will automatically select the text in the box.
You can then copy and paste it directly into your page. If you’re using dynamic pages, you’ll need to include this code in your template to ensure it appears on every page of your site. Some advertisers prefer not to display Adsense on every page, and that’s understandable. An example is a company that owns AdSense and may also have terms and conditions that will certainly provide legal resources that may be deemed improper.
What you still need to do is get content on your page (assuming you don’t already have it). The Google AdSense crawler visits your website immediately and ensures that the ads shown are relevant to the content on your website.
And you’re done. This simple page really needs to be done in minutes, which is what makes AdSense the choice of many people. Though fast, its mass appeal also makes it the best. Because they are the most popular, advertisers and publishers alike see Adsense and Adwords as their natural first choice.
